Background Concepts
Backgrounds I worked on for a production titled "Falling Into the Future". I designed the kitchen scenes and the fashion room scenes for the production in Adobe Photoshop. Here you can see how I created the kitchen and then began to work in color to help with the final background, which was created in Adobe Flash.
Fashion room backgrounds I worked on for a production titled "Falling Into the Future". I designed this room and the kitchen scenes for the production in Adobe Photoshop. Here you can see how I created the fashion room and then began to work in color to help with the final background, which was created in Adobe Flash.
Here are some background concepts I designed for a production I worked on titled "The Punch". For these backgrounds I wanted vintage beach town craftsman houses to line the street. I used pale colors and kept a 'sketchy' quality to it.
Digital Illustrations
This is a reworking of the classic 'Beauty and the Beast' charcters. Here I reworked the scene right before Beast is about to transform back into human form in Adobe Photoshop. I made the background hazy in order to give it a more dream like quality and for the characters to stand out as a main focus.
Here is my interpretation of the Greek God Hermes. Here is depicted taking a soul to the underworld, which was one of his jobs. In Adobe Photoshop I put down a light pale red to act as the base color, and then I built on top of that.
With this Clark Gable portrait I wanted to play with colors and light reflecting upon the skin. I used contrasting colors to heighten the warmth and cool of the skin tone. I used subtle hints orange and blues, purple and yellows, red and greens, and black and greys
Character Concepts
I have a fascination with the 1920s. These characters were bred from that fascination. I wanted these charcters to have a very sketchy quality to them, I feel like the original sketch lines adds a life to the characters. These were done in Adobe Photoshop.
These are some characters designs I worked on. I drew each character in pencil and then placed them on model sheets. I left the original blue construction lines so you can see how I built the character.
These are quick concepts for a production I worked on titled "The Punch". As with the backgrounds on this production, the characters also had a 'sketchy' quality to them. Here we have your classic Hero, Villain, and Damsel in Distress. These were done in Adobe Photoshop.
These were done for a reworking of the classic "Island of Dr. Moreau" by H.G. Wells. In my interpretation I made the main character a ten year old boy named, Nino, and the Dr, Raymonde. These sketches were done in the style of Chris Sanders. Here are the main characters for the story and their character traits. I took sketchbook paper and crinkled it and added stains to give it an old journal feel to it. I then put the drawings into Photoshop and added a sepia overlay to the sketches and then added tape to make them look like they were taped into a journal. It helped with the overall tone of the story.
